Entry Process


Entries may be submitted from 15 March - 21 April 2024


Speakers are permitted to submit one entry across no more than 2 award categories.

Entries for each category must be processed individually.

The competition organisers hold the discretion to disqualify any entry for any legal reason.


Submission Guidelines


All talks must no longer more than 3-5 mins long; With the exception of TEDx which has an allowance of 8-10 mins long and be loaded to the form (also direct link with a video, youtube, vimeo) 

All speaker content entered for the awards must have been delivered and/or recorded between March 2023 to April 2024. 


Proof of date may be requested.


Applicants will receive notification if their submission has been disqualified.

By submitting an entry to the Speaker Awards, applicants are automatically bound by The Speaker Awards Terms & Conditions.



Eligibility & Exclusions Eligibility Criteria


The Speaker Awards are open to speakers of every nationality and country.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age.


Exclusions



Individuals serving as judges, suppliers or sponsors for the awards are not permitted to submit applications.


The organisers, founders and/or their family members are precluded from applying.

Individuals who have been remunerated by The Speaker Awards within the past 12 months are precluded from applying.  


Individuals serving as Ambassadors for the Speaker Awards are precluded from applying.


Applicants are ineligible to enter a specific award category in the Speaker Awards if they were the winners of that category in the preceding calendar year.


They are welcome to submit their applications for the same category after a one-year hiatus.


Applicants are ineligible to re-enter an award category if they were inducted into the Hall of Fame for that specific award category.

Applicants will be granted induction into the Hall of Fame if they have secured a win in any award category three times or if they have been honoured with the Speaker of the Year Award.


Judging Process & Winner Selection

Judging Process & Criteria

  • All applicants will be judged using the Speaker Awards Judging Criteria
  • A minimum of 3 judges will be assigned to each judged award category
  • Except for the Speaker of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award, all award categories will be subject to evaluation by judges.

All awards judges are required to adhere to the Judges Code of Conduct.

Any judge found in violation of this code will be relieved of their judging responsibilities.


Judging will be conducted in two stages:

  • Stage One: Each judge assigned to a category will evaluate every applicant based on the Speaker Awards Judging Criteria and the Judges Code of Conduct.
  • Stage One: Judges will then create a shortlist of applicants who will progress to the next stage.
  • Stage Two: Judges assigned to each category will convene, referencing the scores from Stage One.
  • Stage Two: Utilising the Speaker Awards Judging Criteria, they will determine the winner and the highly commended applicants from those shortlisted.

The decisions made by the judges at the conclusion of Stage Two will be considered final and binding.


Selection of Winners


The shortlist for the categories will be announced on 10 May 2024


The category winners and the overall Speaker of the Year will be revealed on July 5th, 2024, during an awards evening taking place in London.


Shortlisted applicants (or their appointed representative) will be expected to buy a ticket to attend the awards ceremony in London, UK.
